Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd will add another non-stop flight from Malaysian northern state of Penang to Hong Kong from June next year, bringing its total non-stop service between the two cities to four per week, local media reported on Dec. 24.

The Board of Directors of Alitalia has decided to choose Air France-KLM as its preferred bidder and considered its offer the best guarantee for the national carrier's future, Italian media reported on Dec. 22.
- Vietnam's First Private Airline to Conduct First Flight Late Next Year[Dec. 21, 2007]
Vietjet Air, Vietnam's first private airline, plans to launch its first commercial flight in December 2008 or early 2009, according to local newspaper Tien Phong (Pioneer) on Dec. 21.
- Vietnam to Buy 30 Airbus Airplanes[Dec. 21, 2007]
Vietnam Airlines, the country's national flag carrier, and the Vietnam Aircraft Leasing Company (VALC) will buy 30 airplanes from Airbus, Vietnam News Agency reported on Dec. 21.
