- KLM Takes Delivery of Its 15th 777 in Seattle[Apr. 30, 2007]
On April 27, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines took delivery of its 15th Boeing 777-200ER (Extended Range) from Paine Field in Everett, Wash., north of Seattle. KLM is leasing the airplane from International Lease Finance Corp. (ILFC). KLM, part of the Air France-KLM Group, operates the 777-200ER on long-haul international routes from its Amsterdam base to cities such as Cape Town, Los Angeles and Tokyo.

Virgin Blue's loyalty program, "Velocity", has taken out the "Best Award Redemption" title (Asia Pacific region) for the second time in two years. The program was also ranked in the top five in seven out of the nine categories, including running 2nd for 'Best Bonus Promotion' and 3rd for 'Program of The Year' and 'Best Website'.

Swiss European Air Lines and the "Interessensgemeinschaft fur einen Gesamtarbeitsvertrag" ("IG pro GAV") association have reached agreement on the content of a new Collective Labour Agreement (CLA) for SWISS's regional pilot corps. The accord lays the foundation for a new social partnership; and the new CLA should enter into effect in July, 2007.

An Air Arabia pilot and member of Bahrain's 2004 Olympic sailing team is preparing for the 2007 Air Arabia World Endurance Sailing Challenge, a 550-kilometre solo voyage from Bahrain to Dubai, which will take place in May. The aim of this ocean voyage, which will last up to three days and nights, is to raise funds for local charities in both the UAE and Bahrain, including the Bahrain Palm Association, which helps needy families in Bahrain, and Well Care World Hospital in Dubai, leading health care specialist.
