Finnair has announced its annual results for 2006. The carrier posted a 6.3 per cent rise in turnover to US$2.58 million, while the operational result fell by 11.2 per cent to US$91 million.

Qantas Airways Ltd, target of an agreed AU$11 billion (US$9 billion) buyout, increased its profit forecast a second time in three months on rising ticket sales and lower fuel prices.
- Boeing 'on Track' to Deliver New 787[Feb. 09, 2007]
Boeing Co said on Feb. 8 that it was on track to deliver its new 787 Dreamliner planes next year and tipped a good year for new commercial orders as North American and Asian airlines buy new aircraft.
- Mainland, Taiwan to Reach Possible Deal on Direct Charter Flights[Feb. 09, 2007]
A deal to expand direct charter flights between Taiwan and the Chinese mainland should be reached "very soon," a Taiwan official said on Feb. 7.
- Airbus Rumored to Sell Site[Feb. 08, 2007]
European aircraft maker Airbus could sell some of its sites under the vast restructuring plans scheduled to be announced later in Feb., Airbus chief and co-chairman of EADS, Louis Gallois, said in a newspaper interview published on Feb. 7.
- British Airways' Revised Excess Baggage Charging Policy to Come into Partial Effect[Feb. 08, 2007]
In common with all airlines, British Airways has always charged for excess baggage.
- Air One Orders Ten More A320s[Feb. 09, 2007]
Air One has announced on Feb. 9 that the purchase of a further ten A320s, following contracts signed with Airbus in November and December last year. The Rome-based airline, the second largest in Italy, has now firmly ordered a total of 40 A320s and has a further 25 options and 25 purchase rights, according to the initial agreement announced in January 2006.
- Airbus Takes Media on A380 Flight[Feb. 07, 2007]
Members of the international press and television got their first chance to experience flying in the A380 during a two-hour flight over the Pyrenees on Feb. 7. Also onboard to answer their questions and show them around the cabin were members of Airbus' senior management and marketing teams. The A380 used for the flight is powered by four Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines, has a fully furnished cabin with seating for 519 passengers in a three class configuration.
- Avion Aircraft Trading Commits to Six Airbus A330-200F[Feb. 06, 2007]
Avion Aircraft Trading has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Airbus for six A330-200 Freighters. With this commitment Avion, based in Reykjavik, joins the launch customer base for the new Airbus freighter and becomes the first customer in Iceland for this aircraft type. Deliveries for these aircraft are scheduled in 2010 and 2011.
- Airbus Wins First Asian Customer for VIP A340-500[Feb. 07, 2007]
Airbus has won its first Asian customer for a VIP version of its ultra long-haul A340-500 - highlighting the aircraft's growing appeal to private customers. The deal is the third for the VIP A340 that Airbus has announced this year, and is in addition to five orders for Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) Family aircraft.
