- TNS Assesses Brand Health for Cathay Pacific[Sep. 04, 2006]
Market information specialist, TNS has been awarded a multi-country contract by Cathay Pacific to monitor and evaluate its brand health in key markets across America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Spanning ten markets in total, the research programme will see TNS undertake fieldwork using its 6th dimension online research approach to assess customer commitment to the Cathay Pacific brand and identify areas for improvement.

On Monday, Oasis Hong Kong Airlines, began taking its first-ever reservations. The new airline which is 100% owned by Hong Kong investors, will begin its first non-stop flights from Hong Kong to London Gatwick on October 25. Fares start from as little as HK$1,000 one way.

Mario Heinen (50) has been appointed Senior Vice President and Head of the A380 Programme with immediate effect. Mr Heinen has until now lead the Single Aisle Programme, and previously headed the Airbus Delivery Centres in Toulouse and Hamburg. He joined Airbus in 1999 coming from Lufthansa Technik, where he served as General Manager Aircraft Maintenance.

Lufthansa, which ordered the world's second-largest fleet of Airbus A380 airliners behind Emirates, said it won't get its first super jumbo until the summer of 2008, rather than January of that year as expected.
- A380 Takes-off on First Passenger Flight[Sep. 04, 2006]
The Airbus A380 took off from Blagnac International Airport in Toulouse at 09:58 am local time this morning with 474 passengers on board for the first in a series of four long flights or "Early Long Flights". During the flights, the passengers, comprised of Airbus employees and cabin experts, will put the cabin through its paces.
