On December 13, Rolls-Royce PLC, the world's second-largest aircraft engine maker, said it won a US$450 million (euro339.7 million) order to provide engines for a fleet of 50 Airbus A320 aircraft ordered by China Southern Airlines.

On December 14, the Board of Airport Authority Hong Kong announced the appointment of Stanley Hui Hon-chung as Chief Executive Officer. The appointment, which was unanimously endorsed by the Board and approved by the Chief Executive of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, is effective 1 February 2007. Mr Hui succeeds Dr David J Pang, who has been CEO since January 2001.
