On 20th September, American Airlines and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport are still lobbying hard to generate last minute support for a proposed route from D/FW to Beijing.
- HKIA's New Hangar to Open in 2007[Sep. 20, 2006]
To better serve passengers and enhance Hong Kong International Airport's (HKIA) status as a global aviation hub, the Airport Authority Hong Kong signed an agreement with Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre Limited (BAC) for the construction of a new hangar on 20th September. Located on a 4,500-square-metre site adjacent to BAC's existing hangar, the new building is almost double the size of the company's current hangar and is able to accommodate large aircraft such as the Boeing 737-800 and Airbus Corporate Jet (ACJ).
- HKIA Records Solid Growth in August[Sep. 20, 2006]
Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) handled 4.1 million passengers in August, an 8.7% increase from the same period last year.
- China Approves RNP Operations at Linzhi[Sep. 22, 2006]
Air China and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) completed a successful operational validation flight of RNP navigation procedures at Linzhi (also known as Nyingchi), Tibet, capping an extensive program of procedure development, flight testing and operations review. The approval by the CAAC opens the door to revenue operations in Linzhi Airport, which is only accessible using RNP, and to broad deployment of RNP RNAV in China.
- China Express Airlines Flies Guiyang-Nanning Route[Sep. 23, 2006]
According to Chinese news reports, China Express Airlines ("Huaxia Airlines" in Chinese name), which positions itself as the only privately-owned regional airline carrier that is currently based and operating in China's mainland, will officially launch its newest route between Guiyang and Nanning on 25th September. This also marks the first ever flight to Nanning operated by a privately-owned Chinese airline.

On Sep. 22, construction started at the Beijing Capital International Airport on Asia's biggest hangar, a facility that will be able to hold two Airbus SAS A380 superjumbos.
