- Alitalia Fined Twice by CAAC[Aug. 14, 2006]
Due to the expiry of Alitalia's Dangerous Goods Transportation Permit, the East China Regional Management Bureau of Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) recently fined the carrier again for an amount of RMB3,612.98 yuan. This was after the airline had been fined RMB2,039 yuan on 24th March this year due to the reason of transporting dangerous goods without any valid permit resulting the breach of relevant dangerous goods transportation regulations. - Guangzhou Airport Expands Terminal[Aug. 11, 2006]
On 11th August, construction of the third east and west passageways and tie-up building of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport officially began, which has marked the expansion of airport terminal (second stage) that had been planed for a long time is now finally in the process of being carried out. Once the second stage of the airport terminal's expansion project completes, the annual passenger volume could be increased by 10 million. - New B737 for China Eastern Yunnan Branch[Aug. 07, 2006]
A brand-new Boeing 737-700 aircraft with the registration number being B-5225 arrived at Kunming International Airport on 29th July. Since the arrival of this new aircraft, the total number of airplanes of China Eastern Yunnan Branch reached 32, while 27 are Boeing, and 13 aircrafts in the fleet are Boeing 737-700 type.
- Xi'an Airport: 0.9 Million Passengers in Jul[Aug. 07, 2006]
In July, the number of passengers handled by Xi'an Xianyang International Airport exceeded 900,000 for the first time, the number of passengers handled in the busiest day of the month reached 33,000, which has been the highest record in the history of Xi'an Xianyang International Airport's passenger transportation development. Scanorama, the SAS on-board magazine, is now also available in Chinese. Table-tennis star, J-O Waldner, Scandinavian design and delicious Norwegian seafood are what SAS Chinese customers can read about while sitting on board SAS flights on the Copenhagen-Beijing and Copenhagen-Shanghai routes. The magazine uses the written Chinese language that is read by nearly one billion mainland Chinese. A 16-page guide on the Oresund Region, entirely in Chinese, is also enclosed in the magazine. Orrefors, Dux, the Advokatbyran Hellstrom legal firm and Oriflame are among the advertisers who took this opportunity to reach a Chinese target group that has increasing spending power.

China Airlines and Delta Air Lines have expanded their codeshare cooperation on August 1, when China Airlines added three round-trip sectors to its existing Delta codeshares - from Los Angeles to Hartford, Columbus, and Raleigh/Durham.
- Asiana Increases Shenyang-Busan Frequency[Aug. 04, 2006]
Effective from 1st August 2006, Asiana Airlines has increased its Shenyang-Busan (Pusan) service (Flight No. OZ314) frequency from 2 flights to 3 flights per week, which converted the Shenyang-Busan service from leaving Shenyang every Tuesday & Saturday to Tuesdays, Fridays & Saturdays now. The departure time from Shenyang is 12:00 pm, and the arrival time at Busan is 15:00 pm.
