On April 17, VLM Airlines reported a full-year profit of 3.2 million euros, a 143% increase over its 2005 earnings and its ninth consecutive year in the black. Revenue rose 12.5% to 99.6 million euros and operating costs climbed 10.9% to 95.3 million euros.

On April 5, Southwest Airlines announced a three-year contract extension of its existing beverage contract with the Coca-Cola Company. This will extend the Southwest Airlines-Coke partnership through 2011. Under the terms of the agreement, Coca-Cola North America will continue to be the beverage provider for Southwest, supplying soft drinks including Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and Sprite Zero, Seagram's mixers, and Minute Maid juices on all Southwest Airlines flights.

On April 17, Boeing Chairman, President and CEO Jim McNerney named Wanda Denson-Low to replace Bonnie Soodik as head of the company's Office of Internal Governance, effective May 4. Soodik will retire June 30 after a 30-year Boeing career. Denson-Low, who leads the legal staff supporting Boeing Integrated Defense Systems (IDS), will hold the title of senior vice president, reporting to McNerney. She also will replace Soodik as a member of the company's Executive Council.
