British Airways has taken the first step towards expanding its longhaul fleet by ordering four Boeing 777-200ER aircraft for delivery during early 2009.
- Virgin Blue Announces AU$124.3 Million Half Year Profit[Feb. 20, 2007]
On February 20, Virgin Blue Holdings Limited announced a net profit after tax of AU$124.3 million for the half-year ended 31 December, 2006, up 80.9% on the prior period. Earnings per share increased 80.3% to 11.9 cents. The full year 2006/7 forecast is now expected to be in excess of 60% higher than the previous corresponding result of AU$112 million.
- Air New Zealand Places Third Order for Boeing 787 Dreamliners[Feb. 19, 2007]
The Boeing Company said on Feb. 19 that Air New Zealand has finalized an order for four additional 787-9s, following on from the airline's announcement in December that it would be placing an order. This is the airline's third order for the popular 787 Dreamliner. With this announcement, Air New Zealand has ordered a total of eight 787-9 Dreamliners.

Boeing and LOT Polish Airlines announced on Feb. 19 that the airline has increased its 787 Dreamliner order by one additional aircraft, bringing its total 787 order to eight airplanes. In 2005, LOT placed an order for seven 787s, with delivery positions beginning in 2008.
