- National Civil Aviation Security Working Conference Held[Oct. 24, 2018]
On September 27, the National Civil Aviation Security Working Conference was held in Shenzhen. During the conference, the security work of 2017 was summarized, challenges and circumstances facing the security check system were analyzed and key tasks in the next stage were planned. CAAC Deputy Administrator Lyu Erxue attended the conference and stressed that we have to forge ahead to make progress, to make evolution and explore new grounds, to enhance the quality and efficiency of civil aviation security check, and to better serve people's needs and industry's development, so as to boost high quality development of civil aviation security check.

From September 12 to 13, the Second Chinese Airport Development Forum and the Exhibition of Airport Facilities and Equipment co-hosted by China Civil Airports Association, Changsha Municipal People's Government, and IATA was held in Changsha, Hunan Province. Deputy Administrator of CAAC Dong Zhiyi attended the opening ceremony and delivered speech. More than 400 delegates from both foreign and domestic airport industries and from relevant fields attended the forum. They have discussed the achievements of airport industry made in the 40 years of reform and opening up, shared construction and innovation experience regarding safe, green, smart, and culture-oriented airport, discussed the future trends, and talked about development strategies to open up a new chapter of high-quality civil aviation development.

On September 10, the 2018 RPAS and Drone Enable Global Symposia was opened in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Drone experts and entrepreneurs from 49 countries attended the symposia and carried out discussion surrounding topics such as the classification, standards and regulation of drones. Deputy Administrator of CAAC Wang Zhiqing, Secretary General of ICAO Liu Fang, and Vice Governor of Sichuan Province Peng Yuhang attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

The world's biggest route development conference got off to a flying start in Guangzhou on Sunday before being halted due to Typhoon Mangkhut. However; it was business as usual for the following two days with nearly 30 new routes being announced by the hosts, Guangdong Airport Authority (GAA) and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

As an action-packed World Routes 2018 draws to a close, Mr Qui Jiachen, Chairman of Guangzhou Baiyun International airport handed over the event to the Honourable David Ridgeway, the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Government of South Australia. Preparations are already underway in Australia to host next year's forum down under. This will be the first time that any Australian city has hosted the prestigious event and will bring South Australia to the attention of the world's leading airlines.
