The General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) has introduced new security restrictions on carrying liquids, aerosols and gels (LAGs) onto aircraft effective from May 1, 2007. The new carry-on restrictions are in accordance with the standards and practices recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

Travelers from China will no longer need to make a flight transfer while flying to South Africa. The first-ever direct service between China and South Africa officially launched on April 27, 2007.

On April 26, Cathay Pacific Airways brought together around 30 of Hong Kong's top bartenders for a unique cocktail competition. Organised in conjunction with the Hong Kong Bartenders Associations (HKBA), the aim of the competition was to select two new signature drinks - one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic - to be served to the airline's First and Business Class passengers across its global network.

With an increase of 7.25% compared with summer and autumn 2006, Air China from summer 2007 on will fly 5,817 flights per week on 254 international and domestic routes enable passengers to proceed to 26 countries and regions including 39 international and 78 domestic cities.
- Air China Adds Service to Tibetan Plateau[Apr. 19, 2007]
Air China has added frequencies to the Tibetan Plateau, increasing the Chengdu-Linzhi service to five flights a week. This Chengdu-Linzhi service was initiated last September, following the success of its Chengdu-Lhasa service. Air China has provided consistent air service to the Tibetan Plateau for 42 years, also carrying passengers among its regional destinations such as Bangda and Changdu.
- Juneyao Airlines Launches Shanghai-Guilin Service[Apr. 19, 2007]
On March 25, Shanghai-based Juneyao Airlines launched a direct air service between Shanghai and Guilin, the 12th route operated by the carrier since the airline began operations on September 25, 2006.
