The Aviation Accident Insurance may be included in the flight tickets in China, while the commission of authorised AAI Agents may face serious reduction if plan goes ahead.
After officials with the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) shared that the Aviation Accident Insurance (AAI) could be included in the flight tickets in the future, a flight ticket sales agent informed the reporter it has been rumoured that TravelSky Technology Limited (Editor's Remark: The company responsible for developing most IT systems for China's civil aviation sector) has started to develop the relevant software. "Once the policy permits, CAAC will probably force all flight tickets to include Aviation Accident Insurance."
A flight ticket sales agent in Beijing said, "In the 'Air Transport E-ticket Itinerary' (Editor's Remark: CAAC has decided to implement a standard E-ticket itinerary, which can be utilised as an approved tax-invoice as well, for all Chinese airlines' domestic e-tickets) to be used effective from 1st June this year, 'Insurance Charges' has already been listed on it as part of the formal content. However, in practice, the Aviation Accident Insurance is still being sold separately with the flight tickets."
"From what it seems that the 'Insurance Charges' in the 'Air Transport E-ticket
Itinerary' is reserved for the future", this agent said, "TravelSky Technology Limited has probably received instructions from the authority, but when the Aviation Accident Insurance become part of the flight tickets formally is still not know." (Translation: CARNOC - Tao Mengping)
