China-Copenhagen: New Direct Cargo Route
Copenhagen Capacity | Oct. 04, 2006
Copenhagen Airport just opened its first direct all-cargo route operation to China when Air China Cargo started its operation of the Shanghai-Beijing-Copenhagen-Shanghai route.
In the future, the airline company will operate the route three times a week with all-cargo planes of the Boeing 747-200 type.
Copenhagen is Air China Cargo's second destination in Europe.
The number of cargo routes from Copenhagen to Asian destinations has risen sharply in the last few years.
Apart from the new route to Shanghai/Beijing, Boeing 747 cargo planes have ten departures a week to Singapore and Seoul as well.
The establishment of the new route is a result of Copenhagen Airport's efforts to attract new airlines and maintain its position as a northern Europe's cargo hub, writes the airport in a press release.
