China's three largest airlines have pledged to inform relevant passengers of updates at least once every 30 minutes during flight delays, Xinhua news agency reported on Feb. 6.
China Eastern Airlines says it will strive to maintain punctuality, while Air China and China Southern Airlines assure that passengers can change flights if holding full-fare tickets when flights are delayed.
China Southern Airlines says it will inform passengers of the latest situation via phone or text message in case of flight delays. The carrier said it will also allow customers to be fully refunded if they cancel the bookings before the flight takes off.
China Southern Airlines will also compensate passengers if the company fails to return their checked luggage within seven days after the arrival of the flight.
