Inner Mongolia China Travel Service's charter flight KE9887, operated by Korean Air Lines Co., Ltd (KE), landed safely at Hohhot Baita International Airport -- the largest airport in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region -- at 00:11 a.m. July 29, 2011, when Inner Mongolia received its first group of 134 South Korean tourists this year.
The Hohhot-Incheon charter service was launched in 2006 and offered only in July and August every year. The majority of passengers are South Korean tourists who come to China for golf playing and sightseeing. The restoration of the international flight will further promote the development of economic contacts between South Korea and china, and has significant influence on promoting the internationalization process of city construction in Inner Mongolia.
The charter flight KE9887/8 is operated using Boeing 737 every Monday and Friday effective from July 29 to August 22. Flight KE9887 departs from Seoul at 21:50 p.m., and arrives in Hohhot at 00:20 a.m. the next day. The return flight KE9888 leaves Hohhot at 01:30 a.m. and arrives in Seoul at 04:00 a.m. (Beijing Time).
