China Southern Airlines Taps ARINC's AviNet Airport for Enhanced Network Efficiency

China Southern Airlines is pleased to announce its selection of AviNet Airport network service from ARINC Incorporated to connect its host computer system at Beijing with growing international passenger operations in Australia, Korea, and Japan.
ARINC's Asia Pacific Division and China Southern Airlines' world headquarters in Guangzhou jointly made the announcement on April 17, 2007. AviNet Airport is a cost-effective global IP network solution that allows airlines to connect their legacy and modern applications on a single fully-managed connection.
"AviNet Airport allows us to cost-effectively and securely network all our traditional and modern operating applications with a single connection. We also expect to enjoy increased productivity and uptime with the added network redundancy it provides," said Jerry Hu, Chief Information Officer, China Southern Airlines.

The IP technology behind AviNet Airport supports aviation industry connectivity requirements for check-in, ticketing, baggage handling, fueling, gate management, flight information display systems (FIDS), ground handling operations, and many other applications in the airport environment.
ARINC anticipates completing four cutovers starting this month for China Southern passenger operations at Australia's Melbourne International Airport, Korea's Incheon International Airport, and Japan's Kansai International Airport and Narita International Airport.
