From May 1, 2007, Ameco Beijing started to provide line maintenance services in Shanghai and Moscow for Air Bridge Cargo (ABC), which is based in Moscow.
The five-year service contract also includes aircraft release services for ABC's Boeing 747-200s. ABC awarded a second contract to Ameco Beijing to perform one 747-200 1A check in May. This will be the first work Ameco Beijing has done for Air Bridge Cargo, but the doors are open for base maintenance work, too, said Jan Butzmann, senior director of marketing and sales for Ameco Beijing.
He said Ameco Beijing has been focused on the rapidly expanding Russian aviation market and noted that it has worked for other CIS carriers, including Transaero (Boeing heavy fleet maintenance), Aeroflot (777 heavy and line maintenance), TESIS (747 heavy maintenance), AIR-ASTANA (line maintenance) and Aerosvit Airlines (line maintenance), in the last few years.
