An aviation club has been established in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province, to train private pilots.
It is the first such club in Northwest China. Fifteen candidates out of 98 have so far passed their physical examination.
"If they pass the background check, they will undergo a six-month training course, and if successful, will be granted a license to pilot private aircraft," said Li Zhi, deputy general manager of the club.
According to the club, a pilot trainee is required to pay about 100,000 yuan (US$12,821) for the training course.
The trainees said they all love flying and want to learn a special skill.
