Japan to Shift From JAL to Public Body for Flight Coordination at Certain Airports
Japan Today | Jul. 18, 2007
The Japanese government is planning to commission a public body instead of Japan Airlines within this year to undertake coordination of takeoff and landing times for international flights at certain airports, informed sources said on July 17.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will thus reform an old framework - established when JAL was the only Japanese operator of international flights - for the first time in 37 years.
