South Korea: Airlines to Act over Mileage Points Uproar
The Chosun Ilbo | Jul. 30, 2007
South Korean airlines are trying to respond to consumers' complaints about problems booking tickets with their credit-card mileage points.
Following a report by The Chosun Ilbo on how difficult it is for card users to swap their mileage points for tickets given the dearth of allotted seats, customers launched an online signature campaign demanding a refund instead.
A Korean Air official said the carrier is seeking ways of giving customers more opportunities to buy tickets with their mileage points.
Korean Air customers can expect a new mileage point program to start in September, he promised.
Asiana Airlines also said it is considering improving the mileage point service but announced no details.
