Xiamen Airlines Applies for 787 Service to Los Angeles

Xiamen Airlines has applied for the permission to launch an international nonstop passenger services from its hub to Los Angeles, the U.S. in mid-2016.
Pending government approval, the Xiamen-based carrier will fly its 787-8/-9 Dreamliner from Xiamen to Los Angeles starting this June, with four flights weekly, according to an announcement released Friday on the CAAC's official website.
Meanwhile, Xiamen Airlines is now waiting an approval from the aviation watchdog for a round-trip daily service from Fuzhou to New York in January 2017
Meanwhile, Xiamen Airlines is now waiting an approval from the aviation watchdog for three round-trip North American services from Xiamen and Fuzhou to Seattle, Vancouver and New York.
At present, the carrier has six 787-8s, with another six 787-9s pending delivery in 2016. In July 2015, Xiamen Airlines launched its first ever intercontinental rout with a 3x-weekly 787-8 service to Amsterdam.
The Air Transportation Department of CAAC is soliciting public comments on the application until 5:00 p.m. on April 1, 2016.
