First Flight Links Taiyuan with Pyongyang, North Korea

An AN148 aircraft of Air Koryo landed smoothly at Taiyuan Wusu International Airport at 11:00 a.m. on Aug. 22, marking the first ever flight between Shanxi Province and Pyongyang, the capital of North Korea.
The charter service will be available every four days during Aug. 22-Oct. 30, which is operated by 73-seat An-148. Later, Air Koryo plans to deploy 140-seat Tu-204 to replace the aircraft.
Flight JS531 is scheduled to take off from Pyongyang at 9:00 a.m., arriving at Taiyuan at 11:00 a.m. The returning flight SJ532 will depart from Taiyuan at 12:30 p.m. and arrive in Pyongyang at 24:20 p.m.
