China Southern Takes Delivery of First A320neo

China Southern Airlines has taken delivery of its first Airbus A320neo aircraft in Hamburg, Germany, making it the first A320neo operator in mainland China and the second A320neo operator in North Asia following HK Express.
On Tuesday morning, the brand new A320neo, Registration B-8545, landed smoothly at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and joined China Southern's fleet. The airline will take delivery of 73 more A320neos over the next four years.
The Guangzhou-based carrier is also the first Chinese airline operating the Airbus A330 Family and A380 aircraft.
China Southern is currently one of the largest Airbus operators in China. As of November 2016, China Southern operated 302 Airbus aircraft, including 260 A320s, 37 A330s and 5 A380s.
The PW1100g-JM - powered aircraft is the first of 24 A320neos China Southern has leased from AerCap. The remaining 23 will be delivered through 2019.
The A320neo has 166 seats in a three-class configuration, with a seat width of 18 inches in Economy Class as standard.
The A320neo Family incorporates the very latest technologies including new generation engines and Sharklets, which together deliver more than 15 percent fuel savings from day one and 20 percent by 2020. With more than 4,800 orders received from 87 customers since its launch in 2010, the A320neo Family has captured some 60 percent share of the market.
