Vietnamese Pilot Faces Australian Court on Money Laundering Charge

A Vietnamese pilot is to face a court in Sydney, accused of taking more than US$3 million in drug money out of Australia.
Quoc Viet Lai was arrested at Sydney's international airport by the Australian Crime Commission (ACC).
He was detained and questioned there, and charged overnight with 40 counts of money laundering.
It is alleged he accepted bribes to take the money out of the country.
He was arrested on an outstanding warrant as part of Operation Gordian - a joint taskforce between the crime commission, the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and state police forces that track drug money.
