Spring Airlines has filed an application to the Civil Aviation Administration of China, seeking rights to further expand its network to Japan.
Pending government approval, starting this March, the low-cost carrier will launch a twice-weekly service linking Yangzhou/Taizhou and Osaka, using Airbus A320 aircraft.
Spring Airlines will have a monopoly on the route.
The Air Transportation Department of CAAC is soliciting public comments on the application until January 24, 2017.
