The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Wednesday issued a final permit to allow Beijing Capital Airlines to launch a nonstop service from Hangzhou to Saipan Island.
The Beijing-based carrier, a subsidiary of HNA Group, had applied in November 14, 2016 to serve the U.S.
Capital Airlines had submitted applications to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for Chongqing-Los Angeles route in last July and gotten approval later the year.
According to the CAAC, the Beijing-based carrier planned to operate the Hangzhou-Saipan service thrice weekly, using Airbus A330-200 aircraft starting January 1, 2017.
Capital Airlines will be the only operator on the Hangzhou-Saipan route.
