Spring Airlines has filed an application to the Civil Aviation Administration of China, seeking rights to further expand its network to Japan.
Pending government approval, starting this March, the low-cost carrier will launch two daily services to Osaka from Guangzhou and Dalian and a four-times-weekly Shanghai-Okinawa route.
Meanwhile, the Shanghai-based carrier plans to launch a nonstop international service from its home base to Russian city Ulan-Ude in June 2017.
All four routes will be operated using Airbus A320 aircraft.
In addition, with the launch of Shanghai-Okinawa service, Spring Airlines will reduce the flight frequencies on Ibaraki and Asahikawa routes.
The Air Transportation Department of CAAC is soliciting public comments on the application until February 4, 2017.
