CAAC: Ranking of Major Airport On-time Departure for December 2016

The average on-time departure rate of major airports in mainland China reached 80.14% in December 2016, up 1.4 percentage points year on year, according to data released by Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
Among the 51 airports, 29 achieved better on-time departure performance than the average level, including Xi'an Xianyang International Airport (92.6%), Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport (89.69%), Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (88.83%), Kunming Changshui International Airport (87.87%) and etc.
The 51 airports are divided into two categories according to passenger numbers served in 2015 - full-year passenger volume more than 1% of total airports and that less than 1%.
According to statistics, Xi'an again topped on the list to be the most punctual airport in 10 million passenger club with an on-time departure rate of 92.6%, followed by Chongqing and Shenzhen.
Urumqi International Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport were ranked at the bottom of the list of airports with more passenger volumes, with only 64.59% and 70.79% percent on-time departures in December 2016.
Data shows that Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport saw the largest improvement in its on-time performance among the 27 major airports, with its on-time departure increasing 13.5 percentage points to 83.72% compared with the same period last year.
Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport had the best on-time performance among airports with passenger numbers less than 1% of total airports, with 97.7% of flights departing on time in December 2016.
