National Development and Reform Commission said on March 15 that the layout plan for national civil transport airports has been officially printed and distributed. It is planned that the number of transport airports would reach about 260 by 2020; three world-class airport groups would be built by 2025; and by 2030, airport layout would be improved and cover more aspects, and the airports' services would be promoted at the same time.
According to the contents of the layout plan, the coordinated development of airports in central and western regions would be planned in a whole, while the emphasis would be put on the increase of numbers of airports in midwest area and encouraging neighboring regions to break through administration divisions and co-build shared airports.
Furthermore, in the area of plan and construction, the channel of investment and financing for airport construction would be widened and Public-Private Partnership (PPP) would be explored for proper use in order to give full play of market mechanism to attract private capital.
It is introduced that domestic civil aviation development still faces the problem of inadequate resources. The foremost problem is that infrastructures, which are mainly airports, cannot satisfy the fast-growing aviation demand.
