Firecrackers pealed at the ground breaking ceremony for the Qixia general aviation airport on May 7 in Yangchu town of Qixia, a county-level city of Yantai, Shandong province.
Financed by the Qingdao-based hi-tech company Zhongke Kuntai with a total investment of 100 million yuan (US$14.48 million), the airport is located in the northeastern quarter of Yangjiaquan village of Yangchu town and has a planning area of 260 mu (17.42 hectares).
