8 Airlines Confirmed to Enter the New Airport in Beijing

According to the information released by National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC) on its website in April, projects of China Southern Airlines' and China Eastern Airlines' hub in the new airport in Beijing have been approved.
China Southern's and China Eastern's projects are designed to respectively cover 40% of the new airport's passenger volume. China United Airlines, a low-cost carrier subsidiary of China Eastern Airlines, will also enter the new airport considering that Nanyuan Airport will be closed later.
Xiamen Airlines' management have said that Hebei Airlines should seize the opportunity to allocate 40 to 50 aircraft to the new airport.
Beijing Capital Airlines currently has 73 aircraft operating public air transport service, including 8 Airbus A330s. Seven of Beijing Capital's aircraft stay at Beijing Capital Airport during night. In the future, Beijing Capital will devote more resources to the new airport for further development.
East Pacific Group is planning to build a Donghai Airlines' hub in the new airport, allocating 25 aircraft to Beijing, which is the first step to implement its "Beijing Strategy".
In July, Capital Airport Holdings Company signed agreement with Spring Airlines and Okay Airways respectively to pave the way for both airlines moving into the new airport in Beijing.
According to NDRC's related documents, the current project of the new airport in Beijing is designed to accommodate a passenger volume of 72 million, a total cargo of 2 million tons and 0.62 million aircraft movements in the year of 2025. The aircraft movement area reference code is 4F. A passenger apron accommodating 150 aircraft, a cargo apron accommodating 24 aircraft and a maintenance apron accommodating 14 aircraft will be constructed.
As overnight gate position is one of the most significant resources for airlines, the overnight gate positions that the above-mentioned 8 airlines can acquire remain to be observed.
