CAAC Launches Level-III Emergency Response Procedures to Battle Jiuzhai Earthquake

A 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Sichuan's Jiuzhaigou County at 21:19 on August 8. CAAC administrator Feng Zhenglin instructed to launch level-III emergency response procedures immediately and the deputy administrator Dong Zhiyi held an emergency video meeting at 23:30 at that night to arrange domestic civil aviation's response work to the disaster.
After the earthquake, civil aviation units arranged rescue and support work promptly. The airports that located in or near the earthquake region such as Jiuzhai Airport, Chengdu Airport, Mianyang Airport and Guangyuan Airport did not suffer from equipment troubles.
Air China, China Eastern Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Chengdu Airlines, Lucky Air, Suparna Airlines and other Airlines launched emergent support system to battle the earthquake.
