China Southern Airlines Set Up China's First Flight Training Base

China Southern Airlines is pleased to announce the establishment of China Southern (Nanyang) Flight Training Base, being the only Chinese flight training center in possession of its own flight training aircraft, airport facility and management organization.
Present at the founding ceremony were CAAC Vice Minister Li Jian, China Southern Airlines Chairman Liu Shaoyong and President Si Xianmin, Nanyang City Party Secretary Huang Xingwei and Mayor Zhu Guangping.
The first aircraft introduced to the training base is a Boeing 737-300 (Registered as B-2574) - a new plane in current operation of China Southern Airlines with all seats removed.
Nanyang Airport is China Southern Airlines' own fully-invested and managed airport facility, located in China's central plains with a pleasant climate. Nanyang Airport enjoys more than 300 days in a year available for flight, being one of the best airports clear off obstacles in mainland China.
As scheduled, China Southern Airlines, starting from this year, will invest 510 million yuan in succession to continuously improve the varied hard-ware facilities at the airport, phase out three big-size jets of different types into the training base for all China Southern's pilots to receive flight training there.
After all the constructions completed, Nanyang Flight Training Base will provide China Southern's pilots of all types of aircraft smaller than Boeing 777 with initial, base, upgrade and transitional training.
