Children-Used Pharmaceuticals Valued 140 Million Yuan Transported to Guangzhou by China Southern Cargo

These children-used pharmaceuticals are highly temperature-sensitive. During the whole transportation process, the temperature must be strictly controlled within 2-8 degrees Celsius. To guarantee the service quality, the headquarter of China Southern Cargo cooperates closely with the Amsterdam office to work out the loading and unloading plans in advance and that leads to the successful transportation of these pharmaceuticals.
With the economic development and the coming of aging society, people in China are paying more and more attention to their health and the needs of pharmaceuticals are increasing rapidly. Thus in recent years, temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals transportation has become the most promising growth point in logistics market. According to the statistic data, it is a market worth as much as 13 billion dollars and has a compound annual growth rate of 10.7%, estimated to surpass 16 million in 2020. Meanwhile, since the leading pharmaceuticals companies mainly come from European countries and the USA, Europe and the USA have become the main pharmaceutical export areas.
To better transport temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals, China Southern Cargo adopts the Specialized Pharma criterion of SkyTeam Cargo. It has established a service quality management and control system as well as a set of procedures to ensure the sound delivery of medicine which involves space prioritizing, shortest ground operation time, cold storage, professional ULDs and cabin temperature control, providing a professional solution for the transport of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals. Since last year China Southern Cargo has transported a total of about 2600 tonnes of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals through cooperation with shipment enterprises and world-renowned pharmaceutical companies. It has also started the practice of transporting medicine with charted flights.
Last year, China Southern Cargo became a member of Pharma Gateway Amsterdam to keep up with professional standards, build a professional transport capacity for temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals which features high quality, transparency, innovation, high efficiency and seamless connection, as well as make its service in this regard more and more international. Pharma Gateway Amsterdam is a professional trade association started by Schiphol Airport in 2016. The goal was to forge Schiphol Airport into the best gateway airport for medicine transport in Europe. Now Pharma Gateway Amsterdam has 20 members, which covers various players of air cargo including pharmaceutical companies, shipment enterprises, airlines, ground service agencies and truck companies
Currently, the temperature-sensitive products transported by China Southern Cargo can be divided into five groups, namely live seafood, fruits, chilled&frozen seafood, plants such as cut flowers and pharmaceuticals. In 2017 China Southern Cargo transported about 15,000 tonnes of temperature-sensitive products through its international fights with a year-on-year increase of around 40%. Popular goods on CZ flights include seafood, medicine and cherries from North America, salmon, medicine and flowers from Europe, salmon, cherries and seafood from Australia and New Zealand, as well as flowers, flower seedlings, vegetables, and Tricholoma matsutake from Yunnan, China.
