Finnair has decided to cancel its Annual General Meeting 2020 scheduled for 18 March 2020 due to the coronavirus situation. Thus, it will be held at a new date, which will be announced later.
On 16 March 2020, the Finnish Government announced that public gatherings will be limited to a maximum of ten persons. Finnair wants to ensure a safe meeting environment both for its shareholders and employees.
"We are currently living in an extremely exceptional situation. Due to these extraordinary circumstances, Finnair has decided to cancel the Annual General Meeting and will convene a new one within a few weeks. Finnair will ensure that online participation to the Annual General Meeting will be possible. Safety, caring for each other and a fair treatment of all are at the essence of what Finnair is. This applies both to our flight operations and to arranging an Annual General Meeting", emphasises Jouko Karvinen, the Chairman of Finnair's Board of Directors. "We want to ensure that all our shareholders have an equal possibility to participate in the meeting without having to worry about their own health or the health of their fellow participants."
