Spring Airlines, once labelled itself as the first low cost carrier in China, now plans to list on the stock-exchange. The reporter learnt on 22nd May, presently Spring Airlines is in contacts with several internationally well-known investment banks seeking to implement the plan of selling its shares on the stock market, also the likely probable stock listing location seems to be Hong Kong. Besides, Spring Airlines wants to add aircraft number to six in 2006, and up to 9 by the end of next year.

Accor has joined China Southern Airlines' Sky Pearl Club Frequent Flier Programme (FFP), with members eligible for mileage points for stays all Accor hotels worldwide. This FFP agreement marks the first co-operation between Accor and China Southern Airlines. (5/22/2006)

Less than two weeks after establishing a foothold in China with the addition of Shanghai Airlines, Star Alliance yesterday solidified its presence with the addition of Air China, the country's most profitable carrier.Once the two airlines become full members, Star will have bases in both Shanghai and Beijing, giving it a leg up on rivals SkyTeam, which signed an MOU with Guangzhou-based China Southern Airlines in 2004, and oneworld, which still is without a member based in mainland China and eventually may look to Shanghai's China Eastern Airlines.
