China's civil aviation authority announced a pilot plan to carry out direct luggage transfer services at 29 domestic airports across the country, a move to simplify boarding procedures and reduce transfer time for air passengers.

Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific Airways Limited said on Friday that Rupert Hogg has resigned as the chief executive officer (CEO) and Paul Loo has resigned as the chief customer and commercial officer with effect from Aug 19.
