On May 24, Australia's Qantas Airways said it might hive off some businesses or return billions of dollars to shareholders as it finds its feet following a failed US$9 billion (HK$70.2 billion) takeover bid.
- Qatar Airways Orders 80 Airbus A350XWBs[May 30, 2007]
Qatar Airways has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to buy 80 of the all-new Airbus A350XWB aircraft. The agreement was signed at the Elysee Palace in Paris in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and Mr Nicolas Sarkozy, President of the French Republic, by Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al-Baker and Airbus President and CEO Louis Gallois. This will make the airline the largest customer for the A350XWB to date and the first one in the Middle East region.

Colombia's national flag carrier Avianca is acquiring 70 Airbus aircraft, including 38 firm orders (33 A319s/A320s and five A330-200s) and 32 options (27 A319s/A320s and five A330-200s).
- Finnair Takes Delivery of Its First Airbus A340-300E[May 25, 2007]
On May 25, Finnair took delivery from Airbus of its first long-range A340-300E (E for Enhanced), the first of an initial order of three placed in December 2005. Since, Finnair has increased its order for Airbus long haul aircraft, adding seven A330/A340s and 11 A350XWBs. The A350XWB is Airbus' latest medium capacity long range airliner and will join Finnair's fleet in 2014.
- Wizz Air Closes Sale and Lease Back Transaction for Further Four A320 Aircraft with GECAS[May 29, 2007]
On May 29, Wizz Air and GE Commercial Aviation Services' (GECAS) announced the closing of a sale and lease back transaction for four new Airbus A320 aircraft, all to be delivered in 2008. This agreement complements an earlier announced similar arrangement between the parties for the sale and lease back of earlier four new A320s with deliveries in 2008 too.

Tiger Airways, Singapore's real low fare airline, has agreed with leasing company GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) to lease two new Airbus A320 aircraft.

Falcon Aviation Services (FAS) of Abu Dhabi, the expanding VIP helicopter charter and maintenance company has concluded a purchase of four spn light jets. The agreement was signed by Chairman Salem Al-Kayoumi from FAS and Gerrit Basson, COO of ExecuJet Aviation Group during the second day of EBACE 2007 in Geneva, May 23. The deal was supported by ExecuJet Middle East, a subsidiary of ExecuJet Aviation Group, the exclusive distributors globally of the spn outside USA and Canada.
