Civil aviation authorities on the mainland and Taiwan agreed to add extra flights across the Taiwan Straits for Spring Festival in January and February to meet the demands of Taiwan residents on the mainland to return home during the holiday, the Civil Aviation Administration of China said on Tuesday.

Shenzhen recently revealed a transportation action plan in forging Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport into a key international air hub in Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). By 2035, the ratio of international and regional passenger throughput in Shenzhen Airport will have risen from less than 10% to 25%, as a long-term target of "The Action Plan for Shenzhen to Build an Example in Strengthening China's Transportation System (2019 to 2035, draft for public consultation, action plan for short)".

Budget airline Norwegian Air is ending flights from Copenhagen and Stockholm to the United States and Thailand due to weak demand and technical problems affecting the engines on its Boeing 787 Dreamliners, it said on Wednesday.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will expand its European network to include Cork, Ireland. From March 2020, Ireland's second largest city will be served daily with a direct KLM flight from Amsterdam. The flights will be operated using Embraer 175 and Embraer 190 equipment, seating 88-100 passengers per flight.
