- Domestically-Made Flight Simulator Receives a D-level Certificate for the First Time[Aug. 30, 2017]
Recently, the ARJ21-700 flight simulator received a D-level certificate issued by CAAC under CCAR-60 requirements. It's the first time that a domestically-made flight simulator receives a D-level certificate, which means that pilots could fly ARJ21 after finishing training on ARJ21 flight simulators.

BAA Training, one of the largest aviation training centres in Northern Europe, is pleased to announce that it has renewed the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rostaviatsia) approval for Boeing 737 CL Initial, Recurrent and Renewal training. The approval also grants use of BAA Training's own Boeing 737 CL Full Flight Simulator for providing training to Russian airline operators.

The African Business Aviation Association, AfBAA, has further strengthened its commitment to educating the African business aviation sector by signing two significant Memos of Understanding (MoU), with leading international aviation training organisations. Nick Fadugba, Vice-Chair of AfBAA's Safety and Training Committee signed the first with Mrs. Margareth Josephath Kyarwenda, Secretary General, Association of African Aviation Training Organizations, AATO. Virginia Tech and UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) today announced a comprehensive research and education agreement that will focus on two areas of vital interest to UTAS and the aerospace industry: secure aircraft wireless networking and power electronics. UTAS will invest US$1 million over five years to help fund a master research agreement, as well as student scholarships, capstone projects and competitions in these areas. UTAS is a unit of United Technologies Corp.

Airbus has shortlisted the five finalist student teams competing in the fifth edition of the Fly Your Ideas challenge. The radical concepts selected cover a wide range of innovations going from an alternative to satellite imagery, to improved aircraft taxiing, clever ways of boarding, new areas for luggage storage or offering a new business model using existing Airbus aircraft.
