Air France wants to expand deal with Qantas

Qantas code-share partner Air France wants to expand its relationship with the Flying Kangaroo and is investigating code shares in Asian hubs beyond Singapore.
The two airlines currently swap passengers in Singapore for a daily service between six Australian ports and Paris.
Air France executives have been in Sydney this week, visiting Qantas, and said yesterday the service was producing good growth. More than 100 passengers on each of its Paris-Singapore flights were heading to Australia.
"Now we are to improve it, and a way to improve it is either enlarging the pipe or finding connecting points other than Singapore," Patrick Alexandre, the executive vice-president of Air France's international commercial division, said.
The comments came as Garuda Indonesia said it would increase capacity to Bali by 28 per cent from April after the Indonesian Government guaranteed the airline's cash flow. Increases include a 50 per cent capacity expansion from Sydney, more than 30 per cent to Perth and 25 per cent from Melbourne.
