The union representing flight attendants at Delta Comair said 93 percent of attendants had voted to authorize a strike.
Comair, a regional unit of bankrupt Delta Air Lines, has asked the bankruptcy court in New York to allow it to void its contract with the flight attendants.
The hearings in this matter are scheduled to begin on Monday.
Delta Comair has demanded pay cuts of approximately USD$10,880 annually -- up to 30 percent of an average Comair flight attendant's salary.
