"May 1st" flyers may reach 3.3 million

The reporter learned it from Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), it is forecasted that in "May 1st" golden week of this year, the number of tourists will be travelling by air will possibily reach 3.3 million, which means an increase of about 20% compared with the same time of last year.
CAAC has informed all the parties in the industry, urged all airlines to make appropriate preparations, strengthen the harmony of carrying capacity and management of flight seats, arrange the carrying capacity and overtime flight scientifically and reasonably, and try to satisfy the needs of tourist travelling by air during the golden week period.
Because China's new domestic routes and flights operational regulations came into effect since March 20th, 2006, resulted in an improvement over the so-called 'management method of domestic routes and flights'. Therefore, in the period of "May 1st" golden week this year, the airlines 'Golden Week' additional flights needn't to be pre-approved by the authority, but uses a recording system instead, according to the market circs the airlines could arrange the flight plan accordingly after successfully obtaining the relevant slots.(Translation: CARNOC Mengping Tao)
