Singapore Airport Terminal Services Ltd. Monday said it has appointed John Chan Wai Leong, who used to run Macau's international airport, as senior vice president of corporate business planning and development.
In the newly created role, Chan will be responsible for corporate planning, investment strategies and policies for international business and will oversee overseas businesses and joint venture initiatives, SATS, Singapore Airlines Ltd.'s ground-handling arm, said.
"This appointment at SATS is very timely as the company continues to expand aggressively in fast-growing regions such as China, India, and the Middle East, thereby maintaining our position as the leading integrated airport ground handler and inflight caterer in the Asia Pacific region," SATS President and Chief Executive Ng Chin Hwee said in a statement.
Chan was previously executive director and a member of the board of Macau International Airport, which he joined in 2003, and was responsible for the marketing, promotion and development of the airport.
