New flights to begin within two years; in coming November, El Al to increase number of Hong-Kong's weekly flights
El Al is planning to operate daily flights to Hong Kong and Beijing within less than two years.
El Al's Vice CEO Uri Danor said that in coming November El-Al will start to operate four weekly flights to Hong-Kong, compared to the current three. Danor explained that in order to operate the additional flight El-Al will cancel one of its New York flights.
"Hong Kong's line is extremely successful and the flights are in high capacity," said Danor. "The line supports businessmen traveling to Hong Kong, as well as to connection flights to destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan and the Philippines.
"In spring 2007, when we get two more Boeing 777 airplanes, we're planning to dedicate one line to Hong Kong and the other to United States," he said.
According to Danor, El Al is also planning to increase the number of Beijing flights.
"We're predicting a huge change in the traffic between China and Israel", he explained. "This change will justify a daily flight to China. We're even considering operating a flight to Shanghai."
