Marco Polo Appoints GM In Beijing

Marco Polo Hotels announces the appointment of Malcolm McLauchlan as General Manager of the soon to open Marco Polo Parkside Hotel in North Beijing. Raised in New Zealand and Hong Kong and a graduate of the prestigious "Ecole Hoteliere de Lausaane" in Switzerland, Mr. McLauchlan joins Marco Polo Hotels with a long history of Asian hotel assignments including luxury properties in Manila, Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Jakarta and Guangzhou with such prestigious organizations as Hyatt International, New World Hotels and Stamford Hotels.
A mere 1000 meters from the 2008 Beijing National Main Stadium, the Marco Polo Parkside is a 313 room luxury hotel scheduled to open in December, 2006. Designed by the award winning firm of AB Concepts in Hong Kong, the hotel will feature a wide variety of food & beverage options including a 3-meal show-kitchen cafe, a Chinese Restaurant, a Korean Restaurant and a spectacular lobby lounge featuring the finest in designer coffees and exotic teas as well as nightly entertainment.
