CAAC:Ontime Performance Affects Slot Request
By Peng Lanlan, Beijing Morning Post | Jul. 23, 2006
From now on, ontime performance of the relevant airlines will be taken as a factor into consideration for any future slot request and slot-keeping of existing services concerning Beijing Capital Int'l Airport. On 22nd July, the reporter learned from Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) that, any airline whose flight ontime performance is relatively good and 'passenger complaint rating' is low would have the priority in getting slot allocations for any newly-increased service and existing services during peak hours; However, if vice versa and the handling after flight delays has been relatively poor causing continuous customer complains, particularly group complains, the airlines' application for future slots may be denied.
Officials from CAAC claimed, "If the airlines' own reason results in any long time flight delay, and the poor services given after such flight delays have occurred result in passengers' complaints of a large scale, CAAC will look into and matter and if all the complaints have been verified as real, the authority may cancel the concerned airlines' permit in operating that particular service, and/or recall the slots of that particular service concerned with the airport mentioned here-above."
