Japan Airlines (JAL) has posted recovery due to bookings from China. Last year, the airlines declared a sharp drop in demand due to Chinese protests regarding a Japanese textbook's remarks on its wartime occupation of China.
Strong business from China has aided in decreasing losses for the first quarter to $444 million.
JAL's recovery business strategy was to concentrate on the most profitable routes and cutting losses.
In the three months to the end of June, JAL's sales rose by 3.7% to $1.6 billion, reports the BBC.
"Overall passenger demand on international routes was favorable," JAL said.
JAL added, "Demand on China routes bounced back, making a remarkable recovery from the negative impact that last year's anti-Japanese demonstrations had on travel to China."
