Ctrip.com Posts US$8m in Net Income

Ctrip.com International Ltd. garnered net revenues worth US$24 million during the second quarter this year. The figure was 47 percent higher than the correspondent period result in 2005. Net revenues increased by 22 percent from the first quarter in 2006. (8/10/2006)

Net income for the second quarter of 2006 was US$8 million. Excluding share-based compensation charges (non-GAAP), net income was US$9 million, representing a 30 percent increase from the same period in 2005 and a 20 percent increase from the previous quarter, stated the company.
Company's hotel reservation revenues totaled US$15 million during the quarter, a 28 percent increase over the same quarter last year. The total number of hotel room nights booked was around 1.7 million.
Air ticket booking revenues were US$9 million, representing a 94 percent increase from the same period in 2005. The total number of air tickets sold in the second quarter were around 1.49 million.
Packaged-tour revenues were US$1 million, up 48 percent from the same period in 2005.
For the third quarter of 2006, Ctrip expects to continue the year-on-year net revenue growth at a rate of approximately 40 percent.
