Ink Publishing has announced it has won the contract to produce the inflight magazine for low-cost, US carrier ATA Airlines.
The first issue of Sights magazine will be available onboard from the 1st of October.
Now in its 33rd year of operations, ATA serves major business centers throughout the US as well as popular vacation destinations, such as the Hawaii market.
This announcement comes just months after ATA announced it has expanded its codeshare agreement with Southwest Airlines.
Josef Loew, Senior VP of Scheduled Service at ATA Airlines, commented: "Communicating with our customers is a top priority for us. This magazine allows us to entertain, inform, and even engage our customers. We think they will be extremely pleased with both the design and content-photo spreads of romantic getaways, quirky articles like one on the history of the martini and where you can find the best ones, as well as destination-specific guides."
Simon Leslie, Publishing Director of Ink Publishing, said: "We are thrilled to be producing this publication for ATA as it allows us to create a stylish travel and lifestyle magazine that will appeal to millions of ATA's savvy, experienced travellers. As Hawaii is a major route for ATA, we will be producing the magazine with the Hawaiian traveller at the forefront of our thinking."
Leslie continued: "This contract gives us further reason to expand our US operations and continue to grow the number of editorial and sales staff we have based in the US."
By adding ATA to its extensive portfolio, Ink Publishing has further galvanized its position as the largest producer of inflight magazines in the world and strengthened its position in the US market. The contract is further confirmation of Ink Publishing's global capabilities and sector expertise as a travel and business publishing specialist.
Jeffrey O'Rourke, Chief Executive of Ink Publishing, said: "We are delighted to be working with ATA at this exciting time in their history. We are looking forward to developing a high quality magazine with superb editorial content that shows off ATA's exciting destinations."
